We have just prepared two absolutely legendary Star Wars starships for you. Specifically, these are the Y-wing Fighter and Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator. Both model kits come in special anniversary editions – the Y-wing Fighter (celebrating 40 years of Return of the Jedi) and Maul’s Infiltrator (celebrating 25 years of Episode I – The Phantom Menace). Complete with a poster, paints, and glue included in the box, this is an excellent entry point for beginner modelers and Star Wars fans alike!
This sleek starship (as the box art suggests) made its first appearance in Episode I: The Phantom Menace. It was this very ship that Darth Maul landed on Tatooine while searching for Queen Amidala, and it served as his mobile base of operations. Simply put, Maul used this craft anytime and anywhere across the galaxy, wherever his master Darth Sidious needed him.
The model itself is not overly complex to assemble. With a part count of 35 pieces, and with paints, a brush, and glue included in the box, it is—as we've already mentioned—an excellent entry point for beginners or absolute newcomers to modeling. And as a cherry on top, the box includes a movie poster celebrating the anniversary of The Phantom Menace.
Now, this is a real treat! Y-wings served in the galaxy for many years, but this particular model is—dare we say—the most visually interesting one. Its appeal comes mainly from the exposed engines. Their cowling was stripped away to allow for easier maintenance, as these starships had already been through a lot by the time of the battles of Yavin and Endor. While we could also see Y-wings during the Clone Wars in the service of the Republic, that’s not what this kit is about—it is set squarely in the era of the Rebellion against the Empire.
Furthermore, as we mentioned earlier, this box also includes paints, a brush, and glue. This makes the model ideal even for absolute beginners who are just starting out with our beautiful hobby.
